'Acharya' is all set to hit the screens on April 29. Much has been said about the coming together of Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan, the father-son duo. What director Koratala Siva has highlighted before the film's theatrical release is the nature of complementarities between Acharya and Siddha, the characters played by the duo.
Siddha (Charan) is an inhabitant of Dharmasthali, a holy place where he has been groomed in a gurukula. Sonu Sood plays his mate here. Siddha is a pacifist who has a traditional mindset.
Acharya (Chiru) believes in armed rebellion, being a Naxal. But what unites both is this: they both stand for righteousness. When and why Acharya takes on the baton of realizing Siddha's mission is a plot turn we are all waiting to watch on the silver screen.
Starring Kajal Aggarwal and Pooja Hegde as the heroines, the Acharya-Siddha blend is organic and not forced. Charan has a 40-minute role in the movie. "Their means are contrasting but their end is the same: establishment of Dharma," the director has said.
The film has music by Mani Sharma.
