The teaser for director Shankar’s magnum opus ‘2.0’, released on Thursday, is turning out to be a blockbuster hit. Rajinikanth is reprising his lead role in the movie while Akshay Kumar is essaying the negative lead. So what is the teaser is all about? In one phrase: the return of Chitti the robot.

The teaser is striking in its imagery and grandeur, for which Shankar is well known. Be it the way the mobile phones are snatched away from people, the swirling whirlpool of bird, graphic transitions - they all point to one thing: a terrific visual splendor.

The entrance of a super (evil) power needs the interception of an earlier superpower (Chitti) and the theme seems to be around this. The dismantled robot is brought back to life and sparks fly, fights ensue, who will win? AR Rahman's background score for the teaser is passable.

The super-expensive entertainer, which has been made at a cost of more than Rs. 500 Cr, will hit the screens on November 29.
