Wife’s tearful last kiss to killed soldier in Pulwama encounter

The wife of a martyred army major in the Pulwama encounter that started late Sunday night attended his last rites and bid him a tearful goodbye, where she was seen looking at the coffin that held the photo of the smiling brave man and mouthing the words ‘I love you,’ before blowing him a final kiss.

Major VS Dhoundiyal, who belonged to the 55 Rashtriya Rifles, was killed in the gun encounter that happened Monday with the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. His funeral will reportedly happen later today.

Three other army personnel, a head constable, and a civilian were also killed while a group of senior security officials, including south Kashmir’s deputy inspector general of police and an Indian Army brigadier, were injured in the 18-hour encounter operation.
