When Joe Biden’s first wife, infant daughter died in a car crash

Joe Biden, who is Donald Trump’s Democrat rival, may well become the President of the US if he wins the November election. Not many know that Biden, who is 77, comes with a very painful past. Life was so very cruel to him when he was in his 30s.

Biden was married to Neilia Hunter in 1963. It was a love marriage. Neilia was in the second year at Syracuse University. Biden was her junior at the University of Delaware. After graduation, Biden migrated to Syracuse to pursue law. This is when he and his girlfriend got married, in the year 1966. The couple got blessed with two sons (named Beau and Hunter) and a daughter (named Naomi).

Just six years later, tragedy struck the family at a time when Biden ran for a Delaware seat in the US senate. It was December, by when Biden had won the seat. This is when his wife and 13-months-old daughter were killed in a car accident. His two sons, who were kids, were admitted to a hospital in critical condition. 

Years later, one of the sons, Beau, died of a brain tumour in 2015.
