Debit card-style version of Aadhaar card grows in popularity

Last month, UIDAI introduced a new feature. The Aadhaar card could now be downloaded in the form of a debit card-like thing. Since the old format was not user-friendly in terms of ease of carrying it in the pocket/purse, the new version is becoming popular.

A multi-colour Aadhaar PVC card feature is up on the UIDAI website. Complete with security features, the new card is available for just Rs 50. The payment can be made online while applying for it.

You need to keep your registered mobile number ready so that the OTP can be entered as soon as you receive it. The new card will be mailed to your registered home address by UIDAI.
