There had been a huge furore over Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi’s tweet yesterday that carried a tweet degrading actress Aishwarya Rai and her personal life and following this the NCW had sent a notice to him seeking his explanation on the misogynistic and distasteful tweet.
While Vivek Oberoi yesterday claimed that he did not do anything wrong and that he will seek apology if he is explained on what was wrong in his tweet, and also added that he has been working on women empowerment with education and healthcare facilities offered by him and his project over the years, he has had a change of mind today.
The actor has deleted the tweet and has also sought apology for hurting, and he tweeted “Sometimes what appears to be funny and harmless at first glance to one, may not be so to others. I have spent the last 10 years empowering more than 2000 underprivileged girls, I cant even think of being disrespectful to any woman ever.” He further posted another tweet “Even if one woman is offended by my reply to the meme, it calls for remedial action. Apologies tweet deleted.”
