After 'Yatchan' that received lukewarm response at the box office, director Vishnuvardhan seems to be planning to make a period film or a film which has the elements of a period film if we have to go by his latest Twitter update.

More interesting fact is that the director is working on the script along with veteran Tamil writer Balakumaran who has penned dialogues for classics like 'Nayagan' and 'Baasha' and super hits like 'Gentleman', 'Kadhalan', 'Jeans' and 'Manmadhan'. He has also directed 'Idhu Namma Aalu' written by K.Bhagyaraj.

Balakumaran has been a prolific writer who has written hundreds of novels and short stories and he had a huge readership among Tamil youngsters of the 1970s,80s and 90s. His adeptness in handling Tamil historical subjects came to fore with his novel series 'Udayar' on the Chola kingdom which was considered as the followup to writer Kalki's epic classic novel series 'Ponniyin Selvan'.

A current generation director like Vishnuvardhan teaming up with a seniorwriter for a historical film is bound to create enormous excitement among movie lovers. Lets wait for an official confirmation about the project.
