Vijay Sethupathi has portrayed the role of a transgender named Shilpa in the recently-released Kollywood flick 'Super Deluxe'. The pulp fiction, starring also Samantha in a key role, is one of the most critically-acclaimed movies in recent times. However, a few transgenders have expressed disappointment over the representation of their gender in the film.

Transgender actress and social activist Revathi has taken a strong exception to the scene in which the 'Sye Raa' actor's character confesses that she had helped in the abduction of two small children, who later are made to beg on the streets. Revathi sees that as demeaning to her gender and says that none of the transgenders would do such a sin for money. Sections of transgenders are also unhappy that a married man with a child can become a transgender when the transgenders experience transformation from age 13.

The transgenders are demanding the arrest of Vijay Sethupathi as they feel he should have been more responsible.
