The pre-release event of the Jayam Ravi- Nayanthara starrer 'Iraivan' was held in Chennai on Sunday. Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi was one of the chief guests at the function and he shared many tidbits on his relationship with Jayam Ravi and Ahmed.
The 'Jawan' star said that Jayam Ravi was the first hero from Tamil cinema he saw in person. He recalled working as an extra in 'M Kumaran S/o Mahalakshmi' and being paid Rs. 400 which was 150 more than what he recieved for his first film before that.
The anchor Kiki praised Vijay Sethupathi for being such a big star and attending another hero's film function an promoting it. VJS without hesitating said that Jayam Ravi is a much bigger star than him and he came out of love for him the director and the producer. He also revealed that he was approached to play Arvind Swamy's role in 'Bogan' but could not allot dates and if an opportunity arises in the future he will share screen space.
When it was Jayam Ravi's turn to speak he stated that Vijay Sethupathi possesses all the qualities that a film hero should have. He expressed his wish to direct a film with Vijay Sethupathi as the hero and promised to complete it in quick time. Vijay Sethupathi gave his nod from downstage. The bonding between the two contemporary heroes delighted both their fans.
'Iraivan' directed by Ahmed and produced by Passion Studios has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The raw psycho thriller stars Jayam Ravi, Nayanthara, Narain, Vijayalakshmi and Rahul Bose in the lead roles. It is releasing worldwide on September 28th.
