Ilayathalapathy Vijay has started shooting for his grand 61st film which is also the prestigious 100th project of Sri Thenandal Films banner. The film is being directed by Atlee after the 2016 blockbuster 'Theri'.

As we have reported earlier, Samantha who played the female lead in 'Theri', will be acting as Vijay's pair again in this film.

Now we learn that 'Thalapathy61' will have another 'Theri' connection apart from the combo of Vijay-Atlee-Samantha.

Sources reveal that Vijay plays a police officer like he did in 'Theri'. Since the film has Kajal Aggarwal as another heroine and the film's story involves some portions set in the 1980s we will have to wait for some more time to know what will be the role of the Kakhi attire for Vijay in the film.
