'World Famous Lover', which released on February 14, continues to be in the news for all the disastrous reasons. Latest reports say that Vijay Deverakonda is in a soup because the film has incurred not just losses but heavy losses.
As per an industry observer, the rom-com's distributors most recently went to the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce to seek suitable compensation for the losses they have incurred. Producer KS Rama Rao is very much willing to make good their losses. However, he wants VD to return some of his fees.
The buzz is that the 'Geetha Govindam' actor had pocketed an enviable Rs 10 Cr for the film. He may have to part with at least half of this big amount so that the distributors can go back at least half-satisfied.
Meanwhile, the distributors and the Chamber are rumoured to have asked Puri Jagannadh, the director-producer of Vijay's next movie, to wade into the issue if he doesn't want to face any issues with respect to the distribution of 'Liger'. It's not clear what Puri is planning to do now. If the rumour is true, he surely has a crucial issue with huge financial stakes to be resolved.
