Vijay Antony, one of the bankable heroes of Tamil cinema had a miraculous escape after involving in a freak boat accident in Malaysia during the shooting of his 'Pichaikkaran 2'. He has appeared in public after a long gap to promote the film which also marks his directorial debut.

In one of his interviews Vijay Antony has shared that he has two daughters and one of them nurses ambitions to become an actress and the other a doctor. He added that he wants them to follow their own hearts and will help them in any way he can.

Vijay Antony is handling the production, screenwriting, music and editing in 'Pichaikkaran 2' apart from playing the lead. Kavya Thapar is the female lead while Dato Radha Ravi, Y Gee Mahendran, Mansoor Ali Khan, Hareesh Peradi, John Vijay, Dev Gill and Yogi Babu pllay other important characters. The film is slated for release on May 19th this year amidst high expectations raised by the trailer and the brand recall value of the original.
