It is Vijay Antony after Dhanush and Simbu

The Vijay Antony starrer ‘Kaali’ is all set to release on May 18th and we caught with the director Kiruthiga Udayanidhi who shared many details about her second venture after ‘Vanakkam Chennai’.  The director assures that the film costarring Anjali, Sunainaa, Nassar and Yogi Babu is a complete family entertainer that would appeal to the youngsters and old alike.

Kiruthiga revealed that she first approached Dhanush with the subject and though he liked it very much he could not do it as he found that it was the same genre as his ‘Anegan’ directed by K.V. Anand but offered to produce it.  Due to unknown circumstances the project did not take off at Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films.  Kiruthiga then narrated the script to Simbu and he almost signed it but because the new producer the director was associated to backed out at the last minute.  It was then that she approached Vijay Antony who liked the script and immediately came forward to compose music and also produce apart from playing the lead role.
