Venezuelan model Karla Elizabeth Dominguez Gonzalez was found dead outside her apartment in Alexandria at approximately 6.20 am on July 29 by the local police officials.
The police just recently identified the accused as 33-year-old Ibrahm Elkahlil Bouaichi, a man of the middle eastern descent, after warning earlier that he was armed and dangerous, seeking help from the public to identify him. When the 31-year-old victim was found lying unconscious outside her house, paramedics rushed to the scene but declared her dead on the spot. The officials later traced the man and found him with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. They immediately took him to a local hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment. According to a report by an International news agency, Bouaichi's lawyer had mentioned in a bond, "The two individuals involved were boyfriend/girlfriend and there is a substantial defense here. Mr. Bouaichi can be released under any appropriate conditions to live with his mother and father at their home in Maryland. He has a solid record of employment, graduated high school, attended college and is not a flight risk. He has retained counsel and is absolutely devoted to working with his attorneys to establish his innocence."
According to a spokesperson for the city, Dominguez Rodriguez was from Venezuela and was known there for competing in beauty pageants.
