Recently, actor Vemal hit the headlines for his unique service to the society, as he volunteered to turn a sanitary worker for his native village Pannankombu near Trichy, spraying disinfectants and creating Corona awareness among villagers.

Now the actor has opened up on the selfless service of his wife as well. Vemal is married to doctor Akshaya, and in a recent interview Vemal revealed that despite the fact that Akshaya is in the 8th month of pregnancy, she had been working in Omandurar hospital till last week.

The actor added that, while she has been given leave as she's nearing the due date, as she was working even in a critical situation doctors in the hospital gave her a standing ovation for her selfless service which makes him feel happy.
