Popular television actress Priyanka committed suicide in Chennai. The actress who has done many serials including 'Vamsam' and few movies was found dead hanging by her maid this morning at her Valasaravakkam residence.

Thirty two year old Priyanka was married to basketball coach Arunbala for the past three years but it is said that the couple were living seperately for the past two months.  Neighbours have told newmen that the couple not having a child was one of the main reasons for their misunderstanding.  

Priyanka's death follows a long list of Tamil serial actors and actresses such as Shobana and Sai Prasanth who have taken their own lives.  Psychologists are of the opinion that stress and depression are the main reasons coupled with the highly competitive nature of television field.
