The appointment of M.K.Surappa as the new Vice Chancellor of the Anna University by the Governor Banwarilal Purohit has attracted criticism from opposition parties in the state. As Surappa is a Kannadiga, many have asked whether the Governor did not find any Tamil to lead the university.
Actor Kamal Haasan on Friday tweeted criticised the Governments stating that Tamils ask for Cauvry water from Karnataka but the Central Government gives a Vice chancellor from Karnataka.
Now ace lyricist Vairamuthu has also criticised this controversial appointment of VC.
In his Tweet in Tamil, the Kaviperarasu has said “A Tamil has never got an opportunity to become India’s Prime Minister. Don’t they deserve to be even Vice-chancellors?. Are these activities intended to isolate Tamils?”
