As we all know, veteran comedian Vadivelu is acting in a comedian's role after a gap of five years in Vishal-Tamannah starrer 'Kaththi Sandai'. For the past five years he has acted in only two films and both of them had him as the lead hero.
Now Vadivelu has been signed up for another film in a comedy based supporting role which comes as a announcement that the Vaigai Puyal is completely back and there is no stopping him from taking up comedy roles as it was the case before five years.
An official press statement from director P.Vasu confirms that the Vaigaipuyal will be playing an important role in his upcoming Tamil film with Raghava Lawrence and Ritika Singh in lead roles. This Tamil remake of the blockbuster Kannada film 'Shivalinga' will also have Vasu's son Sakthivel Vasu in an important character.
Vadivelu has earlier worked with Vasu in the blockbuster 'Chandramukhi' and Sakthi's debut film 'Thottal Poo Malarum'.
The film is being bankrolled by R.Raveendran of Trident Arts banner which had earlier produced Sasikumar's 'Vetrivel' and distributed over 400 films including Vijay's 'Triupachi' and Ajith's 'Arrambam'. S.S.Thaman will be doing the musical score.
The shooting will begin soon in Chennai. The film will be shot in Bengaluru, Mysore, Mumbai and other locations in India. The team is planning to release the film as a Pongal 2017 treat.
