While the hype for Thalapathy Vijay's 'Beast' is growing day by day with just a week to go for the release, 'Thalapathy 66' has suddenly become the trending talk of the town. The fans of the actor are on cloud nine as they are showered with back to back updates from 'Beast' and 'Thalapathy 66' movie teams.

Yesterday, the makers announced that the National Crush Rashmika will headline Vijay's romantic interest with Telugu cinema's leading composer Thaman taking care of the musical score. 'Thalapathy 66' started rolling with a formal pooja ceremony today in Chennai. The regular commences today with a song sequence. The pictures from pooja are going viral.

Notably, veteran actor Sarathkumar was present at the 'Thalapathy 66' pooja. His wife, Radhika Sarathkumar took to her Twitter page to confirm that the Supreme Star is on board for a solid role in the upcoming film. Also, Prakash Raj is expected to join the cast of the film. 'Thalapathy 66', being made in Tamil and Telugu, is to be directed by Vamshi Paidipally and bankrolled by Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations. The project has a story and screenplay penned by Hari and Ashishor Solomon, the regular scriptwriting duo of Vamshi films. Lyricist Vivek is taking care of dialogues and additional screenplay while Karthick Palani cranks the camera and Praveen KL takes care of editing.

Deepali Noor is serving as the costume designer with Sunil Babu and Vaishnavi Reddy taking up the production designer roles. Gopi Prasanna is roped in as the publicity designer for 'Thalapathy 66' and Yugandhar is taking care of VFX. Sri Harshith Reddy and Sri Hanshitha are the co-producers and Nagaraju is in charge of the the make-up. Thalapathy is said to be playing dual roles in this yet-to-be-titled movie.
