Released in 2014, the con movie Sathuranga Vettai which marked the debut of director H Vinoth was a success, and following this, a soul sequel to the movie, Sathuranga Vettai 2 was made, produced by the same producer, actor Manobala.

Sathuranga Vettai 2 is directed by NV Nirmal Kumar who had previously directed Salim starring Vijay Antony, and has story, screenplay and dialogues written by H Vinoth. The movie stars Arvind Swamy and Trisha in lead roles, besides Prakashraj and Nasser in supporting roles.

Earlier, Sathuranga vettai 2 was supposed to release in September 2017, but was getting postponed and delayed due to financial issues, and now the latest update is that Sathuranga Vettai 2 will have a direct OTT release on Amazon prime video and an official announcement is expected soon.
