Right from her debut as heroine in 2002 in 'Mounam Pesiyadhe' Trisha is one of the few leading ladies who has starred mostly opposite the topmost heroes in subsequent films. Her two decades old dream of pairing with Superstar Rajinikanth has also just been realized in the new untitled movie directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Sun Pictures. In our Tuesday Trivia column we take a look at the films that Trisha has worked as the lucky mascot for the biggest heroes in Tamil and Telugu.
Nivin Pauly - 'Hey Jude'
Many filmmakers from Malayalam cinema have approached Trisha but for one reason or the other her debut was delayed and only this year she costarred with rising superstar Nivin Pauly in 'Hey Jude'. Her role as Crystal who helps the hero fight Asperger Syndrome was well appreciated by critics and audiences alike.
Puneeth Rajkumar - 'Power'
This was one rare appearance by Trisha in a Kannada film opposite one of the industry's most popular heroes Puneeth Rajkumar. She played Prashanthi a role originally played by Samantha in the Telugu super hit 'Dookudu'. Critics praised Trisha for alluring look and dancing skills apart from the necessary expressions for the role.
Akshay Kumar - 'Khatta Meetha'
Trish made her Hindi debut with this Priyadarshan film opposite Akshay Kumar playing a Municipal Commissioner and former girlfriend of the hero. It was not a run around trees role but a meaty one in which the pretty actress excelled.
Prabhas - 'Varsham', 'Pournami', 'Bhujjigaddu'
Trisha and Prabhas rocked as a pair in 'Varsham' which went on to become one of the biggest hits in her careers. She later starred with him in a couple more and the pair was well received by the audiences.
Junior NTR - 'Dhammu'
This hot pair of two uber cool stars helped in making this commercial potboiler a blockuster hit and
Mahesh Babu - 'Athadu' and 'Sainikudu'
Prince Mahesh Babu and Trisha first came together for 'Athadu' the biggest blockbuster of both their careers and their songs together are still the favorite of not only Telugu audiences but also other language fans of the duo.
Chiranjeevi - 'Stalin'
Trisha starred with Megastar Chiranjeevi in 'Stalin' directed by A.R. Murugadoss which had a novel theme of how one helps others and chain is formed the goodness will automatically follow the entire society.
Madhavan - 'Lesa Lesa' & 'Manmadhan Ambu'
The uber cool pair of Maddy and Trish have done two films together in Tamil but in both the former loses her to other heroes Shyam and Kamal. Hope these two come together in a new modern romance soon.
Suriya - 'Mounam Pesiyadhe' & 'Aaru'
Trisha's first release in Tamil is 'Mounam Pesiyadhe' with Suriya but she was not paired opposite him. Later in 'Aaru' the duo reunited and the song "Paarkaadha" is still a crowd favorite.
Vikram - 'Saamy' & 'Bheema'
One of the most unforgettable films for Trisha is 'Saamy;' in which she portrayed the role of the innocent school brahmin girl Bhuvana who falls for the dashing cop Saamy. She sizzled in the songs "Kalyanamthaan kattikuttu" and "Idhuthaana". The pair's song "Mudhal murai" in 'Bheema' too is an all time hit both the films music scored by Harris Jayaraj.
Dhanush - 'Kodi'
It was a long time coming but finally Trisha played a powerful negative role opposite Dhanush in which she competed for acting honors in every frame.
Simbu - 'Alai' & 'Vinnai Thaandi Varuvayo'
Being very close buddies offscreen too, Trisha and Simbu's first collaboration was dismal flop but their next 'VTV' became one of the most celebrated love films ever in Tamil cinema.
Ajith - 'Ji', 'Kreedam', 'Mankatha' and 'Yennai Arindhaal'
Trisha had meaty roles as opposed to an usual heroine in all her four associations with Thala Ajith. Especially no one can forget her as the innocent Sanjana in 'Mankatha' and the stunning ethnic beauty Hemanika in 'Yennai Arindhaal'.
Vijay - 'Ghilli', 'Thirupaachi', 'Aadhi' & 'Kuruvi'
If you happen to conduct a poll asking Vijay fans who is the perfect pair of their Thalapathy the highest number would go for Trisha as they have created sheer magic every time they shared the frames. The duo's songs 'Appudi Podu' from 'Ghilli', "Dandaana Darna" from 'Kuruvi' and "Appan panna thappulla" from 'Thirupaachi' make the fans go gaga even now.
Kamal Haasan - 'Manmadhan Anbu' and 'Thoongavanam'
Both the films with the Ulaganayagan may have not done well at the box office but Trisha credits him to have taught him many naunces of acting which she says will help her in taking substantial roles in the future.
