Hollywood actress Kate Winslet, who is filming for the historical drama film Lee, was taken to the hospital after she suffered an accident while shooting in Croatia. A statement from her rep was shared online. It read, “Kate slipped and was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure required by the production. She is fine and will be filming, as planned, this week.”
The 46-year-old Oscar winner will portray photographer Lee Miller in the film that focuses on her life, including her work as a war correspondent for Vogue during World War II. The model-turned-war journalist covered historical events such as the London Blitz, the liberation of Paris, and the concentration camps at Buchenwald and Dachau. The cast for director Ellen Kuras’ movie includes Marion Cotillard, Jude Law, Andrea Riseborough and Josh O’Connor.
Winslet, who has a role in the upcoming movie Avatar: The Way of Water’, was most recently seen on the small screen with aMare of Easttown’, which earned her an Emmy Award last year. The ambitious sequel to James’ 2009 blockbuster Avatar will release in theatres in December. This marks Kate’s reunion with the filmmaker, who directed arguably her most famous performance in the 1997 classic Titanic.
