“This Is My Chance to Prove Myself” – Andrea Jeremiah Opens Up About Producing ‘Mask’ with Tears !

Tamil cinema’s versatile star Andrea Jeremiah has opened up with raw emotion about her bold move to mortgage her own home and take out a loan to fund her debut production, Mask. Starring comedian Kavin in the lead, the film features Andrea in a pivotal negative role, and she sees it as her ultimate chance to prove her mettle as an actress and producer. Dismissing critics who called her decision “insane,” Andrea shared her heartfelt journey, turning heads and sparking widespread admiration online.

Directed by Vikranan Ashok, Mask is a high-stakes project that Andrea co-produced with Sokkhu. Speaking at a promotional event, she explained the gamble: “I’ve acted in over 35 films so far, and this story was just too good to pass up. That’s why Sokkhu and I decided to team up and produce it.” But the real buzz came when she addressed the financial risks. “People kept asking, ‘You’ve struggled for years to build that house—why mortgage it for a loan to make a film? Are you crazy?'” Andrea recounted with a laugh. Her response? “I earned that house from cinema. Now, I’m putting it right back into cinema. It’s an investment in what I love.”

Andrea didn’t hold back on the emotional toll either. She tearfully confessed that unreleased projects like Manushi and Pisaasu 2 (directed by Mysskin, where she played the heroine) still haunt her. “This film is my way of showcasing my talent. If Mask succeeds and turns a profit, I’ll use that to finally release Pisaasu 2,” she vowed. Her passion shines through in her extensive filmography—collaborations with directors like Ram, Vetrimaaran, Gautham Menon, and Mysskin. She fondly recalled pushing herself to the limit for Aayirathil Oruvan, where some scenes took a grueling 26 takes. “Acting and producing are tough, but singing? That’s my true escape,” she added, hinting at exciting music ventures ahead.

The actress also dropped hints about future roles, including a potential part in Vetrimaaran’s Vada Chennai sequel. “Vetrimaaran gives me advice like a mentor, but he wasn’t involved in Mask,” she clarified. Praising her co-star, Andrea gushed, “Kavin’s performance is going to be outstanding—trust me, you’ll love it.”

Andrea’s story of resilience—from small-town beginnings to becoming a multifaceted artist—resonates deeply in an industry often unforgiving to women taking the reins. Her decision underscores a growing wave of female producers betting big on passion projects, proving that true artists risk it all for their craft.

Social media is abuzz with support: Fans are flooding timelines with messages like, “Andrea’s courage is inspiring—success is yours!” As Mask gears up for a theatrical release, all eyes are on whether this house-on-the-line bet will pay off in box-office gold.
