Music composer and actor GV Prakash Kumar has embarked on an ambitious project to adapt the revered Tamil spiritual classic Thiruvasagam into a full music album. As the first step, he has composed, sung, and released the inaugural track from this divine work on his official YouTube channel on January 22, 2026.
The song beautifully blends modern musical arrangements with the timeless devotional essence of Manickavasagar‘s poetry, aiming to make this profound ancient Tamil spiritual literature accessible and appealing to today’s younger generation. According to sources close to the composer, the goal is to carry forward traditional spiritual heritage in a contemporary soundscape while preserving its deep bhakti flavour.
The track gained significant attention even before its digital release. During the recent Pongal celebrations held in Delhi, GV Prakash performed a portion of this composition live in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event, organized to honour Tamil Nadu’s traditions, saw the performance receive warm appreciation, with the Prime Minister and attendees visibly moved by the soulful rendition.
Since its release, the song has been receiving widespread acclaim online from music lovers, spiritual enthusiasts, and fans alike. It is now available for streaming on YouTube and other major platforms.
This initiative is seen as a significant effort to globalize Tamil spiritual heritage through music. Fans are eagerly awaiting the remaining tracks from the album.
