The issue that occupies all sections of the media is the income tax raid at Thalapathy Vijay's house and the thirty-five hours enquiry made in his house by the sleuths on the 5th and 6th of February. It was a consequential raid in relationship to 'Bigil' grossing in excess of three hundred crores at the box office and liquid cash of rupees seventy-seven crores found at the film's financier Anbuchezhian's house. AGS Entertainment which produced by film also came under the scanner.
DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran raised the issue in parliament today by comparing the alleged leniency shown by the IT department to Superstar Rajinikanth to the tune of rupees sixty six lakhs fine deferred. He questioned why Vijay had to be treated in a harsh manner. It is worth mentioning that Dayanidhi Maran's elder brother Kalanidhi is producing Rajinikanth's next movie 'Thalaivar 168' directed by Siruthai Siva.
