Fans of Ajith and Vijay are mostly fighting with each other on social media trying to prove who is the bigger star in Tamil cinema. However it has been proved many times in the past that the rival superstars are indeed close friends offscreen.

Director Venkat Prabhu was caught by pressmen on Tuesday and he gave the surprise news that Ajith Kumar was the first celebrity to call and congratulate him after he signed 'Thalapathy 68' starring Thalapathy Vijay. He was also asked if whether the Superstar tag will be added in the title card of the film to which he replied that 'Thalapathy Vijay's fans will always see him as Thalapathy."

The other hot news that was gathered is that Venkat Prabhu is planning to start the shooting of 'Thalapathy 68' in September or October and that the preproduction and casting work is underway right now.

'Thalapathy 68' is produced by AGS Productions with Yuvan Shankar Raja scoring the music for a Vijay film after two decades. Ajith Kumar will begin shooting for his new movie 'Vidaamuyarchi' in a few week's time while Vijay's 'Leo' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is releasing on October 19th.
