Thalapathy Vijay's 'Varisu' directed by Vamshi Paidipally and costarring Rashmika Mandanna is releasing worldwide on Pongal 2023 amidst huge expectaions. Meanwhile the mass hero will reportedly move on to the shooting floor of his next 'Thalapathy 67' by year end.

Though no official update has been made it is confirmed that 'Thalapathy 67' will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Seven Screen Studios. Names such as Samantha, Keerthy Suresh and Trisha Krishnan are doing the rounds for the female leads.

It is also said that 'Thalapathy 67' will have several antagonists and talks are in with Sanjay Dutt, Action King Arjun, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin and Mansoor Ali Khan. Initially Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran was approached for the chief antagonist. But it is said that he could not accept due to the requirement of bulk dates and his long commitments for Prabhas's 'Salaar', 'L2: Empuraan' 'Tyson' and 'Selfiee'.

There is a strong buzz that sensational Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly is now in talks for the role in 'Thalapathy 67'. The hero of the favorite romantic film of all time 'Premam' is currently starring in another Tamil movie 'Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai' directed by Ram and costarring Anjali and Soori. The official announcement on this news and all the other ones about this most awaited project is expected in the coming weeks.
