A hot new buzz that master cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be making his acting debut in Thalapathy Vijay's new movie has created a huge sensation in the Indian film industry. Vijay, who has finished acting in Lokesh Kanagaraj's 'Leo', is currently holidaying abroad and will be back in a few week's time.

Vijay is next committed to acting in 'Thalapathy 68' directed by Venkat Prabhu. which will go on floors by October or November this year. It was already rumoured that the story is based on cricket and VP's father Gangai Amaran hinted that there is a big casting coup in the film. Now the news leaking out that M.S. Dhoni is playing a parallel lead with Vijay has upped the ante for the film to an altogether new high.

Dhoni has captained the Chennai Super Kings team based in Chennai ever since the Indian Premier League cricket tournament started fifteen years back. Tamil Nadu fans love him so much that they address him lovingly as Thala Dhoni and give him the same reception that they bestow on the movie superstars. He and Vijay have been known to be good friends and the prospect of them teaming up in a movie has excited netizens to no end. We have to wait for the official announcement. It is worth mentioning that Dhoni recently entered film production and his first venture was in Tamil titled 'LGM' starring Harish Kalyan, Ivana and Nadiya.

'Thalapathy 68' is produced by AGS Productions with music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Jyothika, Jai, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Premgi Amaran are also rumoured to be in talks for the main lead roles.
