T Rajendhar to lock horns with Modi government

The 28 percent GST that was initially announced for the film industry has now been reduced to 18 percent but the decision has met with mixed response in Kollywood. T. Rajendhar was in Coimbatore for an event where he slammed the center.

T.R. in his usual emotional self proclaimed that except Kamal Haasan no other big star has voiced concern over the GST and he announced that he will be conducting protests soon. He was also highly critical about the police accepting a complaint against the makers of 'Swathi Kolai Vazhakku' based on the Nungambakkam railway station murder. Pointing out the new threat of plastic rice T.R said the government and the police should concentrate on such pressing issues rather than burdening artistes whose sole aim is to entertain the public.
