Suriya is one of the most talented actors that Tamil cinema has ever produced. His portrayal of captain Nedumaran Raajangam in the 2020 film 'Soorarai Pottru won him his first National Award for acting after so many years. The actor is now shooting for 'Suriya 42' directed by Siruthai Siva.

Meanwhile, the latest is that Suriya flew to New Delhi with his wife Jyothika and the Soorarai Pottru team to receive his award at the 68th National Awards Ceremony. The movie has also bagged awards in the categories: Best Feature Film, Best Actress (Aparna), Best Screenplay (Sudha Kongara and Shalini Usha Nair) and Best Background Score (Prakash Kumar).

It is worth mentioning that a Hindi remake of 'Soorarai Pottru', directed by Kongara and produced by Suriya, is in production with Rawal reprising his role. Suriya will be seen in a cameo role in the remake version. On the work front, the actor is acting in Suriya 42 and director Bala's 'Vanangan' currently.
