Suriya and Gautham Vasudev Menon reunite for their cult classic prequel?

The Suriya and Gautham Vasudev Menon combo has given two highly memorable films to Tamil cinema, namely 'Kaaka Kaaka' and 'Vaaranam Aayiram'. They were supposed to do 'Dhruva Natchathiram' their third film together but parted ways due to creative differences. GVM later continued the project with Chiyaan Vikram on board but the film faced unfortunate delays resulting in it being stranded for almost seven years.
However now all decks are cleared and 'Dhruva Natchathiram' is all set to release worldwide in theaters on November 24th. GVM is giving several interviews for the promotions of the film and has even shared the news that he is going to drastically cut down on his acting assignments and concentrate on making several more films.
Gautham Menon also hinted that he has opened up fresh round of talks with Suriya for a new project and they making very good progress. The class filmmaker let out that he is keen to do a prequel to the cult classic 'Vaaranam Aayiram' that had Suriya in dual roles as father and son. The story will focus on the father character Krishnan played by Suriya and go more in details into his life. There is also a plan to make an action thriller with Suriya with a modern setting. More details are expected to emerge soon.
Suriya currently has his hands full of huge projects that include 'Kanguva' directed by Siruthai Siva, 'Vaadivaasal' directed by Vetrimaaran, 'Suriya 43' directed by Sudha Kongara and 'Karna' directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.
