Actors Suriya and Vijay are the top league heroes of the current generation in Kollywood and they are considered to be competitors. But beyond the professional rivalry they share a beautiful friendship that dates back from their college days.

Both Suriya and Vijay are alumnus of the Loyola College Chennai where Vijay is one year senior to Suriya. That friendship remains still intact.

In a recent interview Suriya revealed that both Vijay and he are members of a Whats App group of Loyola College Alumni and the group is pretty active.

Suriya further revealed that he used to send SMS to Vijay, whenever he likes the latter's film and he did that for 'Thuppakki' and 'Kaththi'. Both the actors are good family friends. Suriya's wife Jyothika and Vijay's wife Sangeetha use to regularly be in touch over phone.

The last time the two families got together was for Vijay's 40th birthday celebrations. Vijay reciprocated the gesture of affection by calling Suriya on his 40th birthday to wish him.

It is worth noting that Suriya and Vijay have acted together in 'Nerukku Ner', the former's debut film and 'Friends'.
