Suriya is currently filming Suriya 44", his first collaboration with director Karthik Subbaraj. The production recently moved to Kerala for its third shooting schedule, following a second schedule in Ooty where a special dance number was filmed in late July.

Described as a blend of love, action, and war, "Suriya 44" is jointly produced by 2D Entertainment and Stone Bench Films. The film’s music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan, with cinematography by Shreyaas Krishna, editing by Shafique Mohamed Ali, art direction by Jacki, and stunt choreography by Kecha Khamphakdee.
