Tamil Nadu has been mourning the death of the 2 year old toddler Surjith Wilson from Nadukattupatti near Manapparai, Trichy, who fell into a borewell when he was playing. After 3 days of rescue operations with various technical equipment and the involvement of disaster management team and NLC, the operation failed.

Early morning today, it was announced that the rescue team could not save the boy and that he had passed away. Following this, people have been offering their condolences to the family of Surjith, and are tweeting on social media, insisting that no such incidents must happen again.

Superstar Rajnikanth, who had recently said that Surjith must be rescued safely, has expressed his condolences, tweeting that Surjith's death has saddened him, and that he prays for his soul to rest in peace. Superstar also expressed his deep condolences to Surjith's family.
