Superstar Rajinikanth the most celebrated actor in Indian cinema was today conferred the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his massive contributions to cinema. Right from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Pazhaniswamy, DMK leader Stalin and MNM leader Kamal Haasan heaped praises on him on social media.

Rajinikanth has posted an emotional note in which he has thanked everyone involved in his success as an actor. He has mentioned " I thank my friend and bus driver Raja Bahadur who discovered my talent as an actor and encouraged me, my brother Sathyanarayana Rao Gaekwad who supported me in spite of him being in poverty, Thiru K. Balachander who created this Rajinikanth and all those producers, directors, actors and technicians with whom I have worked with over the years. I dedicate this award to all my fans around the globe".

Rajini has also thanked the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, DMK leader and his friend Kamal Haasan and the other politicians and film industry personalities for their fond wishes to him.
