Sukumar Writings Marks a Decade of Creative Storytelling and Pan-India Cinema

Director Sukumar, who rose to national prominence with the Pushpa franchise—celebrated as an “All-Time Indian Industry Hit”—has built a reputation as a cult filmmaker admired across India. Yet, for Telugu audiences, Sukumar’s legacy is not just about stardom or box office numbers; it’s about consistently delivering original, concept-driven stories that resonate deeply.

Through his banner Sukumar Writings, he has nurtured bold storytelling while balancing star-driven cinema. Over the past decade, the production house has co-produced several acclaimed and commercially successful films such as Kumari 21F, Uppena, Virupaksha, 18 Pages, Pushpa 2, and Gandhi Thatha Chettu. These projects not only introduced fresh talent but also injected new energy into Telugu cinema. Among them, Pushpa 2: The Rule stood out as a landmark success, breaking records across India and overseas, while also becoming a cultural phenomenon that reinforced Sukumar’s creative vision and production values.

Currently, Sukumar Writings is co-producing Peddi, one of the most anticipated Indian films starring global star Ram Charan and directed by Buchi Babu. The banner is also backing an upcoming film helmed by Karthik Dandu and starring Naga Chaitanya.
