Director Halitha Shameem had made her debut with the movie Poovarasam Pee Pee released in 2014, and had her second direction venture Sillukaruppatti released last year. The anthology movie starred Samuthirakani, Sunaina, Leela Samson, Kravmaga Sreeram, Sara, Manikandan and Nivedhithaa Sathish in lead roles.
Released in December, Sillukaruppatti won rave reviews and turned out to be a commercial success as well. The movie was appreciated by many stars as well, including Sai Pallavi. Now, Halitha in her social media post revealed legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam loved Sillukaruppatti and spoke to her during the lockdown.
Halitha posted “SPB sir spoke to me just before the lockdown. He said “More than a singer, I’m a cinema lover. And I loved your film ma. I’m honoured to talk to you”. His humbleness struck me dumb and didn’t know how to respond. All I could manage saying was “Sir, let me meet you once and ask for your blessing in person, so that you would know how much your words mean to me. He replied “You have my blessings dear! Let’s meet sometime, bring your music director along”. I’m sure to meet you sir! Get well soon!”.
