Legendary singer S.P. Balasubrahmanyam who tested positive to coronavirus and got admitted in a private hospital in Chennai on August 5th has been in critical condition since the night of August 13th. Hospital sources have already confirmed that he is on a ventilator and ECMO support.

SPB Charan has posted a video message this evening in which he has confirmed that there is no change in the condition of his father from yesterday's official update and the situation is quite grim. He however expressed hope that God will listen to the prayers of millions and act with a conscience to bring back his father to active life. He also thanked the film fraternity and fans for their continued support and prayers.

Meanwhile Bharathiraja a close friend of SPB for the past five decades has initiated a mass prayer at 6 pm to 6.05 pm today (August 20th) and has also requested various music and FM channels to play his songs. He believes that like MGR who recovered from a similar condition due to the prayers of the masses SPB too would regain his health.

Rajini, Kamal, Ilayaraja, Vairamuthu, A.R. Rahman, Simbu, G.V. Prakash Kumar and several other celebrities have shown solidarity towards the mass prayer which will be held this evening.
