Song Review: Vinthalu Vinthalu (‘Napoleon’)

The film's concept teaser had introduced the male lead as someone who has lost his shadow.  And this single, titled 'Vinthalu Vinthalu', is a natural progression of that curious teaser.  

Rendered to a Kailash Kher-esque effect by Syed Kareemullah Quadhri, this is a no-frills song that is more in the mould of a theatre narration rendered by amazed artists to dramatize story-telling.  

If the tone of the music is largely lively, Balaji's lyrics are both dark and come with a sense of amusement.  Sidharth Sadasivuni's music keeps with the director's vision of going off-beat.

The film marks Anand Ravi's debut directorial.  Produced by Bhogendra Gupta, it will hit the screens on Nov 24.
