Actor Siva Karthikeyan had last year ventured into production as well, and his debut production venture was Kanaa, the debut directorial of his friend Arunraja Kamaraj, and the sports based movie also had an important message on agriculture as well.

Starring Aishwarya Rajesh as an aspiring cricketer dreaming to play for Indian cricket team and veteran Sathyaraj as her doting father, besides Darshan, Ilavarasu and Rama, Kanaa was a critically as well as commercially successful movie, which was praised in almost all reviews.

In the audio launch event of his second production venture Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja, producer Siva Karthikeyan revealed that he is a huge fan of director Shankar, and he was extremely happy when Shankar himself had messaged him that Kanaa was an inspiring and touching movie, and that he shared it with Arunraja immediately, adding that the team did not expect such a great response.
