National Award-winning cinematographer turned top commercial director K.V. Anand passed away recently at the age of 54 that came as a huge shock to the Kollywood industry as well as fans of his movies. Simbu in his condolence message mourned the loss and also shared that he worked with the director previously but had to opt-out of the project due to issues. He also added that they were planning to do a film now and were discussing it on a day to day basis before Anand's demise.
Now the unseen stills of Simbu when he shot a few portions of 'Ko' have found their way on the internet. It shows him crying over the bloodied body of actor Ajmal who played the main villain and also another with the heroine Karthika Nair apparently from the same sequence.
Simbu due to creative differences opted out of 'Ko' at the last moment when the crew was moving to China for a major shoot schedule. K.V. Anand approached Jiiva to play the role of the fiery photojournalist and he jumped on board immediately and replaced Simbu. The film became a major turning point for Jiiva's and still remains his career-best in terms of commercial success.
It is sad that the magical combo of Simbu and K.V. Anand nearly came through twice but was not destined to take off.
