Popular Kollywood actor and veteran filmmaker T Rajendar was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai on Monday evening. He fell ill a few days ago all of a sudden. He had to be moved to the hospital. Doctors are treating him in intensive care, local media reports said.

There are plans to fly him to Singapore for further treatment and a decision will be made regarding it in the next few days. The veteran's wife Usha Rajendar and son actor Simbu are said to be beside the 67-year-old entertainer and will be traveling abroad with him.

On Monday night, Hariharan Gajendran, a source close to Simbu, tweeted, "Heard TR sir is feeling better now. Don’t have much information on it. But believe Simbu anna will give an official statement soon. TR sir is a righteous man and he will be alright. Prayers."
