Silambarasan is currently basking the success of his last outing Maanaadu directed by Venkat Prabhu. Now the latest report states that his next film Pathu Thala will also have one of the crew members on board in this film.

Production on Pathu Thala had kicked off last year in various parts of Tamil Nadu, with the makers on Tuesday evening dropping the big update that National Award-winning editor Praveen K. L. has come on board the film, which will see Simbu playing the role of a gangster.

Praveen K. L., who impressed everyone with his work in Maanaadu, is reuniting with STR once again. Pathu Thala is an official Tamil remake of the critically-acclaimed Mufti in Kannada that featured Shiva Rajkumar and Sri Murali in the lead roles under Narthan's direction.

The film has Gautham Karthik as a cop, while Priya Bhavani Shankar plays his love interest, with Asuran fame Teejay Arunasalam and Kalaiyarasan in pivotal roles. A. R. Rahman is scoring the music and background score for this Simbu-starrer once again after their Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam and the upcoming Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu.
