A London-based Indian investor missed a flight to Denmark after months of waiting and spending over Rs 4 lakh for a Schengen visa.

Delhi-born startup capitalist and LocalGlobe partner Aashima Arora published photographs of her comprehensive visa appointment documentation. She expressed despair, thinking authorities would appreciate her desire to work abroad rather than settle illegally in Europe.

I pledge not to marry your men or leave London illegally, Europe. I guarantee to spend over $250 daily. Please grant me a tourist visa!" The 28-year-old Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe Finance finalist wrote on X.

Arora, an Indian passport holder with a UK biometric residence permit, had to submit both countries' applications. Her professional travel required additional documentation and approvals beyond tourist forms.

Arora said she has had visa problems before, but this time it cost her a flight and over Rs 4 lakh to expedite.

"I want to invest $10 million in a Copenhagen gaming firm. After years of knowing the founder, he issued me an official invitation letter with all forms on time "Arora said.

She stated that Danish embassy personnel promised her a Schengen visa within a week after an interview. She still hasn't heard back after two weeks.

My goal is to get a business visa from the Danish embassy, which allows walk-ins. After submitting the forms, I learned they take 90 days to process, "Arora told a magazine.

For Indian tourists traveling to France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, Schengen visas take a lengthy time. Arora complained about not being able to use her passport till the visa arrives.

"When they give an appointment, I must check my passport for other travel. I can't organize my life if I need to go to the US, India, or anywhere beyond the UK since Schengen appointments are delayed, "Arora explained.
