The first single, "Sawadeeka," from the film Vidamuyalchi has been released, sparking excitement among Ajith's ardent fans. Scheduled for a grand Pongal release, Vidamuyalchi has been generating immense buzz, with fans eagerly anticipating Ajith's return to the big screen after three years since Thunivu. The teaser and the song have heightened expectations, especially with Ajith's graceful dance moves gaining widespread praise on social media. In an exclusive interview, renowned choreographer Kalyan Master shares his experience working on the film and sheds light on Ajith’s commitment and resilience.
Classy Moves in "Sawadeeka"
"The fans have been eagerly waiting for Vidamuyalchi, and their expectations are sky-high," Kalyan Master begins. "Many hoped to see Ajith sir perform energetic moves in a traditional setting. However, 'Sawadeeka' is a refined, classy song with Ajith sir in a coat and suit. Initially, I was unsure how fans would react to the slow-paced choreography, but their overwhelming response has proven me wrong."
The song was filmed over four days in Thailand under the direction of Magizh Thirumeni. "Magizh Thirumeni is an exceptionally talented director. He gave me full creative freedom, saying, 'Neenga kalakunga, Kalyan.' The result is a sophisticated song that perfectly complements the movie’s tone. Ajith sir’s movements, combined with Anirudh’s music, have been highly praised. The chemistry between Ajith sir, Magizh Thirumeni, and Anirudh has brought a unique flair to the film."
Ajith’s Unwavering Dedication
Kalyan Master fondly recounts Ajith’s dedication. "Ajith sir is known for his hard work and perseverance. During the shoot of 'Sawadeeka,' he had a fever of 102 degrees and was coughing persistently. Despite our insistence on him resting, he prioritized the team, saying, 'There are 40 dancers and so many technicians depending on this. I’ll be back in half an hour.' True to his word, he took antibiotics and returned to the set to complete the shoot. That’s the kind of mental strength he possesses."
A Bond That Stands the Test of Time
Reflecting on their long-standing relationship, Kalyan Master shares, "Ajith sir has been a dear friend since Kalloori Vaasal. He’s a humanitarian at heart. My career as a dance master began with his film Uirukku Aiyvaaga. Later, when I faced challenges in getting opportunities, he gave me a break with Deena. Choreographing songs like Vathikuchi Pathikathuda and Kaathal Website Ondru from Deena was a turning point in my career. Ajith sir has always valued talent and encouraged me to grow."
Upcoming Projects and Future Endeavors
Kalyan Master also spoke about his work on Good Bad Ugly. "I choreographed a song for the film with Devi Sri Prasad’s music. It’s a high-energy, peppy track that fans are sure to celebrate. Ajith sir’s unique look and enthusiastic performance make it a highlight."
When asked about his own journey in the industry, Kalyan Master reflects, "Persistence has kept me here for 38 years. While many come and go, I’ve stayed by working sincerely on every project I undertake. I’m now exploring direction and have written a story. Once I find a producer, I’m confident I can deliver a successful film."
Unchanged Chemistry
Kalyan Master concludes with admiration for Ajith and Trisha’s on-screen partnership. "It’s been 15 years since Mankatha, but Ajith and Trisha remain as charming as ever. Their chemistry is sure to resonate with audiences, ensuring another memorable cinematic experience."
As fans eagerly await Vidamuyalchi, it’s clear that the film promises not only stunning visuals and music but also a testament to the dedication and artistry of everyone involved. With Sawadeeka already creating waves, the anticipation for the film’s release continues to build.
