Did Samantha reject Shah Rukh Khan’s Lion for this personal reason?

South beauty Samantha is back to being busy once again as the announcements of her back to back bilingual films dropped by the makers recently. Now, rumours suggest that she was the first choice for Shah Rukh Khan’s Lion, which is directed by Atlee.

Favourite star couple in Tollywood Samantha and Naga Chaitanya made their divorce official on October 2nd by posting a statement on their respective social media handles. Since then many rumours targeting the actress was doing the rounds on the internet.

Shaakuntalam producer Neelima Guna rubbished abortion rumours and said Samantha was ready to have a baby with Naga Chaitanya. She also added that the actress requested the Shaakuntalam team to wrap up the shoot soon.

She said, “Last year itself, when my father director Gunasekhar garu and I approached Samantha for Shaakuntalam, she loved the story and was very excited by it, but she told us that if she were to accept the role, the shooting should be completed by maximum July/August this year. She informed me that she was planning to start a family and that she wants to become a mother and that it would be her priority.”

The latest rumours state that Atlee approached Samantha first to play the lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan but the Mersla actress turned down the offer as she was planning to have a bay with Chay. Neither Samantha nor the makers of Lion have issued a statement regarding this.

The role later went to Nayanthara, who is currently shooting for the film in Mumbai. Samantha on the other hand has signed two bilingual films recently. She also has ‘Shaakuntalam’ and ‘Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal’ waiting for the release
