Actor Sai Durga Tej delivered a strong message on child protection at the Abhayam Masoom Summit 2025, urging parents and society to take responsibility for children’s safety both online and offline.

“Children are being abused on social media. People are not only making inappropriate comments but also liking and laughing at them. That is painful. Is this the kind of society we want to build?” Tej said.

He condemned the misuse of “dark comedy” against minors and called for linking children’s social media accounts with parents’ numbers or Aadhaar cards to ensure accountability. He also encouraged families to spend more quality time together offline.

Recalling his past social initiatives, Tej mentioned helping build a school in Araku with Think Peace and adopting children in Telangana to support their education. He added that after his film Winner, he avoided songs promoting teasing, saying, “If we love someone, we should praise them, not tease them.”

Concluding with a personal note, Tej dismissed marriage rumors: “When the time comes, I will announce it myself.”

The summit, organized by Young Indians (Yi) under CII in collaboration with Bharat Rising, saw participation from leaders including Minister Seethakka, Yi Co-Chairman Bhavin Pandya, and CII Telangana Chairman Siva Prasad Reddy.
