S.P. Balasubrahmaniyam's current health condition officially updated by hospital

The legendary and much-loved playback singer S.P. Balasubramaniyam who has been enthralling South Indian film music lovers for the past five decades is admitted in the MGM Hospital in Chennai from August 5th. He and his wife Savithri tested positive for the coronavirus and initially their symptoms were mild but SPB's condition deteriorated on 13th night and since then has been in the intensive care unit and on life support.
The hospital management has given the official update that SPB's condition continues to be critical and apart from the ventilator he is also been supported by ECMO and the doctors are monitoring him regularly.
Meanwhile, the legends of Kollywood and SPB's close friends Bharathiraja, Ilayaraja, Rajini, Kamal, Vairamuthu and A.R. Rahman have spearheaded a joint prayer for him on August 20th. Thousands of celebrities and fans will pray silently in their premises at 6 pm and then sing Balu's song to make his voice be heard again and wishing him a speedy recovery.
