‘Rogue’ is a complete package: Ishan

Debutante Ishan, who will be seen in the Telugu-Kannada bilingual 'Rogue' (up for release on March 31), is confident about the project.  In this interview, he talks about how the movie has made his dreams true.

As a newcomer, what is going on in your mind now, two days before the film's release?

I am both happy as well as nervous.  My filmi career is going to take off with this film.  It's my dream-come-true.

How did your journey start off?

When I wanted to become an actor, I told my brother the same.  He only told me one thing.  That although I am tall and good-looking, it's not enough for me to become an actor.  One has to learn acting, learn fights and dances and only then can one be a hero.

It was then when I started working in our production banner.  I worked for a year and a half or so.

After I worked on two films, I was sent to Sathyanand garu's acting institute in Vizag.  After the course was completed, a meeting with Puri sir was arranged.

How did you feel when Puri Jagannadh okayed you for the lead role in your first meeting itself?

He spoke with me for ten minutes or so at his office and told my brother that I have the potential to make it.  I was both shocked and surprised when I bagged this film with my dream director.  My very first film in his direction gives me immense satisfaction.  As his big fan, I will always be indebted to him for introducing me.

Puri sir has guided me from day one.  He narrated to me the script thrice.  He even gave me the freedom to reject this story if I didn't like it.  He told me he will offer me some other story if I didn't like it.  He took care of me like he would take care of a son.

What can we expect from your character?

I have always liked the way the hero's characterization is done in Puri sirs movies.  I am a fan of his movies like 'Idiot' and 'Pokiri'.  In 'Rogue', too, the audience will surely love my characterization.  I personally like the way the villain has been characterized, too.

'Rogue' is a complete package of entertainment.  While being a cute love story, it also has emotions which will attract the family audience.

Tell us about your two heroines Mannara Chopra and Angela as well as other technicians who have made 'Rogue' special to you.

Both my co-stars have done a very good job.  I can't choose only one of them.

All the songs are amazing.  That's why they have become hits.  The visuals are also great.  I must thank lyricist Bhaskarabhatla garu and music director Sunil Kashyap for the numbers.  I also thank my cinematographer for showing me in such a way.
