'D COMPANY' has been described by Ram Gopal Varma as the mother of all gangster flicks. A tale of Dawood Ibrahim, the film has locked its release date.

From May 15, it will stream on Spark OTT on a pay-per-view basis.

The teaser of the movie, released in January, was more than three minutes long. Sans dialogues (except in the last leg of the teaser), it felt longer than its run-time.

The film has been made with unfamiliar actors. RGV, in April this year, had a theatrical release in the form of 'RGV Deyyam'. The movie flopped big-time and even RGV didn't talk about it after its release.

As for 'D Company', it is his fourth OTT release since the pandemic began last year. Given the track record of Varma in the past 15 years, it might release to a lukewarm response.
